Judy Goldman presents Together: A Memoir in Paperback

January 26th Judy Goldman

To relieve his back pain, Judy Goldman’s husband had an epidural (a procedure so routine it’s given to women during childbirth).  The minute the needle pushed into his spine, he was paralyzed from the waist down.  That’s the starting point for Together, which looks at the changes we all face – the slow, ordinary changes brought about by the passage of time and the sudden, dramatic ones that catch us by surprise.  Identities shift, roles switch.  How do we adjust?  This is a story about the life we dream of and the life we make.  It’s about what happens to love over time and all at once.

Author Bio:

Judy Goldman is the author of six prize-winning books – two memoirs, two novels, and two collections of poetry.  Her most recent book, Together: A Memoir of a Marriage and a Medical Mishap, published by Nan A. Talese/Knopf Doubleday, was named one of the best books of 2019 by Real Simple magazine.  Her work has appeared in USA Today, Washington Post, Real Simple magazine, Literary Hub, and many literary journals.  She received the Hobson Award for Distinguished Achievement in Arts and Letters, the Fortner Writer and Community Award for “outstanding generosity to other writers and the larger community,” the Irene Blair Honeycutt Lifetime Achievement Award from Central Piedmont Community College, and the Beverly D. Clark Author Award from Queens University.
