Author Event: Lora Mitchell - Diary of a Young Black Girl

Diary of a Young Black Girl is a book of poetry that gives insight into the experiences and stories of young black women. It will inspire and empower others to share their stories and learn how to express themselves through their own creative outlets. This book goes into the heart of the author as she delves into topics such as love, faith, justice, identity, and relationships.

Lora L. Mitchell is a resident of Miami, Florida. She has been writing since she was a young child. Diary of a Young Black Girl is her first published book. She is currently working on a companion journal for Diary and publishing her second book of poetry The Questions In Between. She loves teaching and mentoring young people, reading, and listening to various types of music. When not writing, you can find Lora performing with the Word Poet spoken word group and being active in the church community.
